Ingredients

unsalted butter
room temperature

confectioners' sugar
sifted

cocoa powder

vanilla extract

milk or cream
Instructions
Place butter in stand mixer with the paddle attachment, whip on medium speed until the butter is white in color (up to 5 minutes)
Once butter is whipped turn mixer to low speed and slowly add in confectioners' sugar
Add in the vanilla extract and salt. Once incorporated stop and scrap bowl
Turn mixer up to speed 8 and whip for 4 minutes
Sift cocoa powder on top of frosting and whip for an additional minute
Add milk or cream to achieve desired consistency of frosting
